You will get off to a fast start with basic long arm machine knowledge, load the quilt top, work with thread and bobbin tension and clean the machine and rails.  We'll introduce you to the Hartley Fence and other Hartley products and many gadgets to help you master the art of long arm quilting.  You'll experiment with pantographs, free hand designs, starts and stops and stitch-in-the-ditch.  We will also share more with you about the business aspect of long arm quilting.

Mary Hibbs and Janet Mitchell, APQS representatives and professional long arm quilters since 1996, will lead you in this class.  Class space is limited! To make your reservation for this class, or to learn more contact, Mary or Janet at countrylanequilting@mail.com  or call 816-350-2002

Let's Continue Quilting (Intermediate Beginners Class)

"Let's Continue Quilting" reviews what you have learned in the "Lets Start Quilting" class and continues to guide you to mastering these and more skills on your long arm machine.  This class is packed fulll of information and edeas to get your "creative juices flowing" and is divided in two parts.

We will work with the Hartley Fence, beginning with mounting it on the machine and move on to quilting the perfect circle and diagonals and creating design ideas for the circles to enhance your quilt top.  We'll then work on the cookie cutters to show you how easy those difficult shapes can really be.  We'll also discover the many wasy to use the many pantographs that are available, where to place them, how to use them in blocks, turning the corner, and resizing and "making them fit" that odd space.

When finished with the Hartley Fence we will move to the front of the machines and work on the Common Quilting Shapes and Freehand Designs and learn how to fill up those spaces and create some of your own fillers.  We'll create fillers, edge to edge to edge designs, learn stitch-in-the-ditch alternatives and work with borders and sashings.  We'll work with some fun gadgets and show you some techniques for using them.

Bring your quilts for discussion as time allows.
